Skin Texture, Acne & Pigmentation

Breakouts, scarring, pigmentation and enlarged pores can make skin look uneven, even under make-up. At MyAesthetics, our doctor-led treatments refine texture, clear congestion and even out your skin tone.

ABOUT SKIN TEXTURE

What causes uneven skin texture and tone?

Acne, sun damage, hormones and natural ageing all change how your skin looks and feels. Congestion leads to breakouts, while damage to the skin’s surface can leave scarring, redness or dark marks long after a spot has healed.

We help with: uneven skin texture, large pores, acne and breakouts, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, pigmentation and sun damage, melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, uneven skin tone, redness, rough, congested, oily and dull skin, tired-looking skin, stretch marks, fine lines and ageing skin.

Spots, blackheads and oily, congested skin.

Scarring & pores

Acne scars, rough texture and enlarged pores.

Pigmentation

Acne & breakoutsSpots, blackheads and inflamed breakouts+

What it is

Blocked pores that become spots, blackheads or inflamed breakouts, most often on the face, jawline, chest and back.

What causes it

Excess oil, dead skin cells, bacteria and inflammation, often driven by hormones, stress and genetics.

How we treat it

A tailored medical-grade skincare plan with ingredients like retinoids and salicylic acid, alongside ZO acne peels and Hydrafacial to deep-clean and calm the skin.

Oily & congested skinShine, blocked pores and blackheads+

What it is

Skin that looks shiny and feels congested, with blackheads and a rough surface.

What causes it

Overactive oil glands, often linked to hormones, genetics, humidity and the wrong skincare.

How we treat it

Hydrafacial deep-cleanses and extracts, and medical-grade peels exfoliate and regulate oil. We pair them with a home care plan to keep pores clear.

Enlarged poresVisible pores on the nose, cheeks and chin+

What it is

Pores that have become large enough to see, usually around the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin.

What causes it

Excess oil, congestion and loss of collagen and elasticity with age and sun damage.

How we treat it

Microneedling rebuilds collagen to tighten the look of pores. Hydrafacial and medical-grade peels keep them clear.

Acne scarringPitted, rolling or boxcar scars+

What it is

Marks and indentations left in the skin after acne has healed, which can make texture look uneven.

What causes it

Deep inflammation during breakouts damages collagen, especially if spots are picked or squeezed.

How we treat it

Microneedling is our main treatment for acne scars, usually over 3 to 6 sessions. Skin boosters and polynucleotides improve skin quality, and filler can lift deeper scars.

Rough, uneven textureSkin that feels bumpy or rough+

What it is

Skin that looks or feels uneven, rough or bumpy rather than smooth.

What causes it

Dead skin build-up, congestion, sun damage, scarring and slower cell turnover with age.

How we treat it

Medical-grade peels and microneedling resurface and smooth the skin, and Hydrafacial gently exfoliates with no downtime.

Sun damage & pigmentationDark spots, sun spots and patches+

What it is

Darker spots or patches, often on the cheeks, forehead and hands, that make the skin look older and uneven.

What causes it

Sun exposure triggers extra melanin. Ageing, hormones and past breakouts can also leave dark marks.

How we treat it

Medical-grade peels and microneedling fade pigmentation, supported by medical-grade skincare and daily SPF to stop it coming back.

MelasmaBrown patches on the cheeks, forehead or lip+

What it is

Larger brown or grey-brown patches, usually on both cheeks, the forehead or above the lip.

What causes it

Hormones (including pregnancy and the pill), sun exposure and genetics. It is more common in women and in darker skin types.

How we treat it

Melasma needs careful, long-term management. After a doctor-led consultation, we use prescription and medical-grade skincare, gentle peels and strict sun protection, and monitor your progress.

Post-acne marksRed or dark marks after a spot heals+

What it is

Flat red, pink or brown marks left behind after a spot has healed.

What causes it

Inflammation from breakouts triggers extra pigment or leaves lingering redness, especially if spots are picked.

How we treat it

Medical-grade peels and microneedling speed up renewal and fade marks, while treating active acne stops new ones forming.

Stretch marksLines on the body where skin has stretched+

What it is

Streaks on the skin where it has stretched quickly, often on the stomach, hips, thighs or breasts.

What causes it

Rapid growth, pregnancy, weight change and hormones that weaken collagen in the skin.

How we treat it

Microneedling stimulates collagen to soften the look of stretch marks over a course of treatments.
